Columnar English Yew

An upright, columnar shrub with dark green foliage. It is less compact than Taxus baccata 'Stricta' and with smaller needles. Tolerates shearing and shady sites well. It needs a moist, well-drained soil. It can't stand water logged sites. Excellent choice for an evergreen hedge where space is limited or as an accent.
