Capital Flowering Pear
A very columnar tree with glossy dark green foliage and white flowers in the early spring. Fall color is reddish-purple. Best grown in full sun in an organically rich, well-drained soil with consistent summer moisture. It is adaptable to a wide range of soils including heavy clay. This was selected in 1969 as a replacement for Lombardy Poplar.
