Quaking Aspen
- #15 PNP
- in the Rocky Mountains
- Fall color
A beautiful fast growing tree that is extremely cold hardy. Narrow and conical in youth, maturing to a rounded crown. Green, heart shaped leaves in summer turn a brilliant yellow in the fall. On young trees, the bark is thin and light colored, becoming furrowed with age. It is nearly indifferent to soil conditions. It prefers cool, moist areas and it does not perform well on hot, dry sites. Native in most of the northern and western U.S. and Canada.
