Vanessa Persian Parrotia
A selection with a more upright, columnar habit. Sensational fall color of orange, red, and purple. Like the species, the older trunks develop a mosaic of gray, green, white, and brown exfoliating bark. This is a tough tree that will grow well in full sun to some shade. It does best in an average, slightly acid, well-drained soil with reliable summer moisture. Once established, it tolerates drought, heat, wind and cold.
