Newtown Pippin Apple
A large, crisp, firm, tart/sweet flavored green apple. Ripens late. It is self-fertile and a good pollinizer for other apples. Tried and true, sprang from a seed in Newtown, Long Island in the 1750's. Budded on semi-dwarf rootstock. It performs best in full sun and well-drained soil.
