Duke Gardens Plum Yew
It is a slow growing, oval to rounded shrub, with glossy, dark green needle foliage. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates full sun in cool summers, but prefers part shade in areas with hot summers. Once established, it can tolerate some drought. It is deer resistant. This selection was discovered in 1958 at the Duke Gardens at Duke University in North Carolina. It makes a great accent plant in shaded areas of the landscape.
