Sycamore Maple

A large rounded oval tree with thick, dark green leaves. The fall color is yellow. The winged fruits form attractive pendulous clusters. A very vigorous tree. It is very adaptable to difficult alkaline soils and coastal salt spray. It prefers cool summer climates and doesn't perform well in the southeastern U.S. warmer than zone 7. It originated from the mountainous parts of southern and central Europe.
