This is well known for the intense crimson fall color, glowing even at dusk. It is a slow growing, upright rounded tree. The green foliage is more sun tolerant than other Acer palmatum selections. It has been in the trade since the mid-1800's. It prefers well drained, acidic soil. Plant this where the brilliant fall color may be appreciated.
