A vigorous, upright tree with purplish-red strap-like leaves that hold their color through summer, then turn to a vibrant crimson in the fall. With dark bark, and a wispy appearance, the translation to "Red Bamboo" perfectly describes this tree. Prefers sun to partial shade and acidic, well-drained soil.
