Staghorn Sumac

A suckering small tree or large shrub with brown felt on younger stems and outstanding fall color. It is very heat and drought tolerant. Yellow clusters of flowers develop into cones of fuzzy red fruit in the fall. It prefers full sun to part shade and a well-drained soil. Sumacs grow in dry waste areas and in sites where few other plants will grow.
