Red Dragon European Filbert

This is a purple-red version of Contorted Filbert. The foliage will bronze in late summer, changing to yellow gold in fall. The branches twist and contort adding year round interest. The male catkins are purplish. It was released by Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station in 2008. It is Eastern Filbert Blight resistant. Grow in full sun to part shade in an average well-drained soil. PP 20,694.
