A handsome, small tree with abundant creamy white bracts in late spring, followed by berry-shaped red fruit (edible but not palatable).The bracts are larger than the species. Fall color is reddish-purple. It is disease resistant. It prefers average moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It is grown both tree form and multi-stem.
