Catalpa speciosa

Northern Catalpa

A large, open irregularly oval shade tree, with large, medium green leaves. The white blooms are large, held in 10" long upright panicles in the early summer. The flowers are followed by long thin, seed pods in fall. Withstands wet, dry, alkaline soils and hot, dry environments, but prefers moist, deep soil.
