Japanese Hornbeam

A small, elegant tree with wide spreading branches and dark green leaves. The leaves are deeply corrugated and wavy, lending a distinct and ornamental look. The fruit resembles a hop. The bark is smooth and gray. It prefers moist soil but tolerates a wide range of soil types. It does best in full sun, but will tolerate light shade.
