An upright, suckering shrub with black fruit in the fall. The leaves are glossy, dark green with pubescence underneath, turning brilliant reds and purple in the fall. Adapts well to poor soils, both wet and dry. It is one of those tough plants that can thrive just about anywhere and provides year-round interest.
